About us

Abuenica (grandmothers united for Nicaragua) is a non-profit organization registered in the state of Virginia, United States, founded by a group of grandmothers and dedicated to providing comprehensive assistance to Nicaraguan exiles, political prisoners, political expatriates, people suffering political persecution, mothers and relatives of those killed by the Sandinista dictatorship. Operating since the beginning of the socio-political crisis in Nicaragua on April 18, 2018, our help has always consisted of medicine, food, safe transportation, safe housing, medical care, essential items, and legal immigration assistance for our Nicaraguan compatriots in the United States and around the world. We hope to count on the support of all kind-hearted people to continue this project, which helps improve the lives of so many victims of oppression and tyranny.
